How rich is a billionaire
the moment before death?
How significant are our finest achievements
in the face of our final hour?

What matters the most
when the archangel Gabriel
is about to collect your soul
and escort it to the Hall of Judgement?
Is it what mattered yesterday?
Or is it what matters today?

In the end everything is nullified and erased.
Everything is disassembled and deconstructed.
Woven into the fabric of the Great Divide
are the eternal questions.

Was the life left behind worth living?
Were the people left behind worth loving?
Was the time allocated to you worth noting?

Tick-tock, says the clock.
Thump-thump, says the heart.
Death is a great equalizer.

If you have courage to ask these questions
you already know the answers.
